Tragos Quest to Greece
Is SigEp’s transformative journey that reshapes how brothers view the world, their Fraternity, and themselves. Guided by alumni mentors and university faculty, Tragos Quest Scholars explore the lasting impact of Greek philosophy, governance, and the arts on contemporary life. Brothers delve into Greek culture while reflecting on the origins of SigEp’s values and the Balanced Man Ideal.
This exclusive program includes visits to ancient historical sites such as Athens, Delphi, Nauplion, Corinth, Mycenae, and Olympia. Brothers not only engage with SigEp’s ritual in a new light but also study the philosophies of Socrates, Aristotle, and Plato, walking the same streets where these great minds once taught. This immersion provides a deeper understanding of both the fraternal world and the timeless principles that guide SigEp.
The Tragos Quest is unparalleled in the fraternity world. Made possible by a generous gift from Past Grand President William G. Tragos (Washington in St. Louis '56) and his wife Lilli, this study abroad experience challenges brothers to grow personally, mentally, and physically. Greece’s awe-inspiring landscapes and rich history inspire deep reflection, pushing brothers to unlock their full potential. Through their studies of ancient Greek philosophy and culture, they not only learn from Socrates, Aristotle, and Plato but are also inspired to apply these lessons to their lives as leaders and brothers.
Only a select few undergraduates are chosen for this highly competitive journey, and those selected exemplify the highest ideals of SigEp. These brothers demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the Fraternity’s values, embodying the Balanced Man Ideal in all aspects of their lives. Colorado Gamma is proud to honor our own brothers who have been chosen for this elite opportunity. Their participation in the Tragos Quest to Greece reflects their dedication to SigEp’s values and their continued growth as leaders, scholars, and brothers.
