Colorado Gamma Leadership Camp
Is our three-day intensive leadership camp, designed to help younger members gain the key leadership skills that can be utilized inside and outside of the classroom. Training features skill-building programs focusing on goal setting, collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and more.
We believe that when members discover the strength of their character, gain an aptitude for leadership and develop a true desire to serve, it has a positive impact on the rest of their lives.
The leadership program takes place away from the main campus up at CSU’s remote Mountain Campus. With the outdoors as our classroom facilitators encourage members to step outside their comfort zone to discover that they are stronger than they realize.
Hands-on learning and group problem-solving are at the heart of the leadership curriculum. By working together members find greater compassion for their peers and for themselves. They gain the leadership, confidence, and communication skills necessary to thrive – in the classroom, the chapter, in the work place and beyond.
By the conclusion of the program, members will:
Develop an understanding of the "Five Exemplary Practices of Leadership" from The Leadership Challenge and how to implement them in their daily lives.
Better understand their strengths and personal growth opportunities through The Student Leadership Practices.
Engage in critical thinking, issue identification, and experiential learning activities to further develop leadership and problem-solving skills.
Increase their appreciation for and understanding of Colorado Gamma’s history, values, and Ritual, which will inspire them to challenge the status quo in their chapter.
Challenge courses are used for team building trainings with the goal of experiencing one's personal limits and strengthening one's self-confidence. To overcome the mentally and physically challenging obstacles in the high rope course.
