CSU/SigEp believes there is more to scholastic achievement than just making good grades. It is the ability to learn, think critically, plan, and execute not only within ones profession but also in service to humanity.
Achieving academic excellence is a process of both formal and informal education. Indeed, education is a limitless and unending process to be enjoyed for a lifetime.

• Develop self-confidence, persistence and leadership abilities
• Develop an attitude of social responsibility and an understanding of cultural and intellectual differences
• Participate in honors programs
• Surround themselves with men who are dedicated students and are serious about their grades
• Learn efficient time management skills
• Participate in summer enrichment programs such as summer research programs, study abroad programs, and internships
• Attend lectures, concerts, art exhibits, theatrical performances, seminars, and other cultural activities
• Get involved in a club or activity directly related to their major as a means of meeting other students, faculty and professionals
• Assume leadership roles as a committee member, chairperson, or officer to develop qualities for success in future career endeavors
• Seek opportunities to work with professors and special projects in research area of interest
