Selfless, Brave, and Honorable
What motivates a young man or woman to serve their country? When they have an entire future ahead of them. What causes them to answer the call to protect the American way of life and its freedoms? They may potentially pay the greatest cost to themselves and their loved ones.
As SigEp’s we are inspired to live by: Integrity, Service before self, and Excellence in all we do. It is ingrained into all that we do as undergraduates.
Some Sigep’s have chosen to stand above the rest and it is a true inspiration to live and learn alongside them. Those who have chosen to serve, show us that they are truly “Selfless, Brave, and Honorable”. Selfless because they have chosen to sacrifice their own comforts. Brave because they have chosen to do the hard things they will be called upon to do. Honorable because they are willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice for their belief in this nation.
It is my honor to present to you the men of CSU/SigEp who stand above the rest:

The ROTC program helps young cadets receive the useful military science knowledge that is necessary to commission as an officer in the military. It helps students to develop the extremely valuable life skills to be successful in the military and to becoming a leader. As an ROTC cadet myself, I find the most difficult part is getting myself up in the morning for Physical Training three days a week. We also attend military science classes twice a week, along with a two-hour practical exercise lab once a week. ROTC also offers multiple clubs such as the firearms education club, although some of these clubs which I am in, forces me to wake up before sunrise every day of the week, it has not stopped me from acting as a regular college student and doing things I’ve always wanted to do such as joining a fraternity. The ROTC program thus far has been challenging yet rewarding and I look forward to my future service in the United States Army.

While pursuing a Journalism and Tech Communications degree at Colorado State, I am currently serving in the Colorado National Guard as a Combat Medic / Healthcare Specialist. I joined the National Guard to better serve my community and country, as well as to gain valuable lessons such as accountability, professionalism, and leadership. I hope to use what I have learned in the military and my degree to better myself and those around me.

Connor Williams, 2021
I'm a Marine Officer candidate in the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class program. I completed PLC juniors in August 2018 and completed PLC seniors in July 2020. I have an air contract and will be attending flight school after commissioning in Summer 2021 and completing the Basic Officer course.
I chose to serve for a few reasons: First, to give back to the county that has benefited me and my family so greatly. Second, to challenge and better myself through rigorous training. Third, to work in a meaningful and interesting field with great people.

I graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Business Administration - Finance. I am joining the Navy as an Aviation Officer and plan to serve for however long I can. I grew up in a Navy family which makes me want to continue my family's legacy in the military. SigEp played a huge part in my decision of joining the service and wanting to serve my country in the best way possible.
