The Sigma Phi Epsilon Citation Award
The Citation Award is presented to only a small, highly-select, group of alumni who have achieved uncommon success and stature in their particular professions and careers, and have brought honor to themselves and to their Fraternity.
Only at each Grand Chapter Conclave are deserving brothers add to this select group. A commission comprised of past Citation recipients makes the ultimate selection of honorees.
Paul, Christian, Jennings, 1958

Paul was widely recognized as one of the leaders in the field of earthquake engineering. He served on numerous national committees, including the National Research Council Committee on Seismology and the National Research Council Committee on Natural Disasters, which he chaired.
He earned his PhD from Cal Tech in 1963 and taught mechanics at the Air Force Academy for a short time before to Cal Tech where he spent the majority of his career in teaching and administrative roles.
Kenneth Warren Monfort, 1951

Ken ran the family owned, Monfort Beef Company until the sale of the company to ConAgra Red Meat Companies in 1998. He was also known for his philanthropic generosity; the Monfort Birth Center, the University of Northern Colorado's, Kenneth W. Monfort College of Business, the Union Colony Civic Center, and the Monfort Children's Clinic.
Ken was elected to the Colorado General Assembly. In 1968, he ran for the Colorado United States Senate, but was defeated. In 1991, Monfort was awarded, "Citizen of the West," by the National Western Stock Show. The National Western Stock Show described Monfort as, "a pioneer in the livestock industry and community leader in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West."

Jap was recognized for building the Colorado State University Alumni Association from 5,000 members to more than 30,000+ members during his tenure as he held numerous roles including Public Relations Officer and Alumni Treasurer. He also played an instrumental role in the construction of Hughes Stadium and Moby Arena while serving CSU.
