Major Bequest Left to Fraternity
Brother Edward Taylor Bradford 1932, an alumnus of the Colorado Gamma Chapter at Colorado State University, died in January, 1977 and left 30% of his residuary estate to be divided equally between the Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation's student loan fund and the general scholarship program administered by the Foundation Trustees. The total bequest amounts to $23,000, making it the fourth largest bequest in the Fraternity's history (In 1977).
The bequest to the student loan fund of the Educational Foundation, which amounts to $11,500, comes at a most opportune time. In December, 1977, the current student loan fud, the Charles L. Yancey Loan Fund, was unable to meet loan requests because all funds had been loaned. With the Bradford bequest, the student loan fund program has been reestablished and is making awards for the spring and fall semesters.
